March 2012 (part 3)

This post will actually carry over into early April as we took an Orcas weekend with friends Gillian, Dom and their son Finn, who at the time was just about to turn One on March 30th.
On our way to the ferry line.
In the ferry line.
At the ferry terminal in Anacortes.
On the ferry.  Irish much?
I believe she was "just making a quick call."  She pretended to have a full convo with Gramma and Grampa.
Sorting beach glass at the cabin.
Cold March day on the beach.

We had the nicest, relaxed evenings in which we would eat lots of fancy cheese and drink adult beverages while feeding the kids dinner.  Then eat our own leisurely dinners after tucking the kids in.  Except for the one night that Finn decided not to go to sleep in a new and scary place and made a reappearance mid dinner, but still... I love big heavy meals at the cabin when it's chilly, dark, and raining outside and that's exactly what we did - Beef Bourguignon and boiled potatoes (made by our UK guests) one night and pork chops the next.
Obsessed with these marbles at Orcas, getting them out of the apple juice jar, and decanting them into an empty egg carton.

Crab.
Tide pools

Rock skipping.

Surprise sunny afternoon on our last day.

We found a ladybug on the beach.

Just eating some olives with my 80's shades on.  What?
After this last photo, our camera battery died and we had forgotten the charger in Seattle.  Oh well.   Needless to say we had a fantastic weekend and come to think of it, I don't think we've been back since. 4th of July here we come!

This post wraps up March and takes us into early April.  I hope to post April pics soon so stay tuned.
