An interesting theory. My first thought was that it was not the way to go, but then I envisioned my stick straight hair clinging to the sides of my head and I realized that doesn't help me look any smaller either. I support your experiment.
I just saw you and your hair looked fab...so did your bump.
I'm thinking a can of Aquanet to create some wave-like big bangs. You should be able to achieve a minimum of 3 inches with the Aquanet.
